Herman Miller Aeron Chair

This is actually one of the items I used to use much more back during the covid times, and I never even realized how big of a part it played in my day to day. Also, the story behind how I got my hands on a premium ergonomic chair is quite extraordinary.

When I had started working in consulting right after graduating from university, covid-19 spread and the world went into shutdown. With the majority of the world’s white-collar workforce transitioning to working remotely, offices became a cash-draining useless asset on many companies’ balance sheets. That list of corporates happened to include my employer, Accenture.

They decided to shut down most of one of their Barcelona offices, and I was lucky enough to not let an otherwise trivial-looking email slip through the cracks. They were offering a heavily-discounted furtniture sale to employees. I instantly replied and drove my car to the office, securing what has been one of my most underrated possesions, but to my girlfriend’s misfortune, who says it’s the ugliest piece of furtniture that has ever been created.
